Description
The sequel to the Christy award winning Time Lottery. The concept for the Time Lottery books centers around the question: "What if?" The books, Time Lottery and Second Time Around, apply this question to one specific choice in our lives. What if we could go back-free of the knowledge of what's happened since-and make a different choice and see what happens? Then, as a bonus, after we've had a bit of time living with the new choice, what if we were given the chance to stay in that Alternate Reality-our Alternity-or return to the future to resume our lives as they'd originally played out? What if we truly had a chance to have a second time around? This what-if is made possible through the invention of an annual Time Lottery, where each year, instead of winning money, three people win a chance to travel back into their own lives to change something. The first book, Time Lottery, showcased the lives of the following three winners: a homeless man, a socialite, and a free-living female surgeon. This second book, The Second Time Around, examines three more winners including a movie star who wonders what a normal life would have been like; an elderly CEO who wants to prevent his beloved from being killed back in 1958 before their wedding; and a middle-aged woman who wants to see what her life would have been life if, as a teenager with divorced parents, she'd gone to live with her hippie mother instead of her rich father. Interspersed amid the events happening in the past is the constant pressure.
