Metaplatforms shares are down -41.7% over the past year compared to the -59.0% decline in the Internet Industry – Zacks Software and the -4.4% decline in the broader S&P 500 index. Changes to Apple’s iOS as well as engagement headwinds are weighing on the stock. Apple’s iOS changes have made ad targeting difficult, which in turn has increased the cost of results.

Measuring these outcomes has also become difficult. Meta expects these factors to hurt advertising revenue growth through 2022. Meta’s guidance for the second quarter reflects macroeconomic and currency concerns. Cost inflation and supply chain disruptions are expected to impact advertisers’ budgets.

However, Meta is enjoying steady user growth across all regions, especially in Asia-Pacific. Increased engagement for its products like Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Facebook has been a major growth driver.

Visa the shares are down -7% over the past year compared to a -1.7% decline in rival Mastercard and a -31.6% decline in Zacks’ financial transaction services sector. The company’s market-leading position provides some stability and visibility in the current uncertain environment, but it still faces a number of near-term challenges, including weak margin prospects due to rising operating expenses, the negative impact of the ramp-up customer incentives on revenue growth and exposure to the Russian-Ukrainian situation.

However, numerous buyouts and alliances paved the way for long-term growth and consistently boosted its revenue. The company’s investments in technology are strengthening its position in the payments market. A transition of payments to digital mode is a godsend. Deployments of coronavirus vaccines and the gradual upturn in consumer confidence will continue to drive spending, in turn increasing business volumes. With its strong cash position, it remains committed to increasing its shareholder value. The strength of its balance sheet is commendable.

Verizon Communications shares are down -5.2% over the past year against the -5.3% drop in domestic industry Zacks Wireless. The company offered a mixed outlook for 2022 due to the challenging macroeconomic environment. A fiercely competitive market and heavy spending on lucrative promotions and discounts to attract customers are likely to hurt its profitability. High auctioning expenditures for midband spectrum are expected to further jeopardize margins.

However, the company plans to accelerate the availability of its 5G Ultra Wideband network with the rollout of C-band, covering 175 million people by the end of 2022. Its growth strategy includes 5G mobility, national broadband and advanced mobile computing and business solutions. Verizon is building the entire network infrastructure to deliver the most amazing 5G experience to customers. It offers various blended rates in wireless and home broadband plans, which has led to strong customer additions.

Zacks names ‘only one best choice for doubling up’

From thousands of stocks, 5 Zacks experts have each picked their favorite to skyrocket by +100% or more in the coming months. Of these 5, Research Director Sheraz Mian selects one to have the most explosive advantage of all.

It’s a little-known chemical company that’s up 65% year-on-year, but still very cheap. With relentless demand, rising earnings estimates for 2022 and $1.5 billion for stock buybacks, retail investors could jump in at any moment.

This company could rival or surpass other recent Zacks stocks which are expected to double, such as Boston Beer Company which jumped +143.0% in just over 9 months and NVIDIA which jumped +175.9% in one. year.
